D. New Product Features and Enhancements
Improvements/New Features
- A new client application icon has been introduced.
- HTML messages are now rendered in very high fidelity by the client.
- A View In Browser button has been added to the inbox message form, providing a fast and user friendly way to view HTML messages in the default browser. This replaces the previous action of clicking on the now hidden Attach0.html attachment.
- A yellow bar now indicates that images have been blocked for security reasons in HTML messages. Clicking it will display the external images:
- Images with an URL starting with "cid:" are stripped and not treated as external images, as they indicate an SMTP error. The user won't have to click the yellow bar unless there are legitimate external images included in the message.
- Added a preference to Content -> Options to always show external images (instead of requiring the user to click the yellow bar):

- Attach0.html is shown when forwarding a message instead of the View In Browser button, so the user can optionally delete it instead of forwarding it.
- Separate flag draws for the mailbox in list mode.
- Copy & paste related issues greatly improved.
- The dialog that appears when you close a newly-created event without saving now has a "Don't Save" button.
- Attachment list has been reworked so that multiple attachments are displayed on one line.
- Reply "From Conference With Quote" and Reply "To Conference With Quote" added to menu items and toolbar buttons.
- Added the ability to select text in a FirstClass message body, right-click, and open a server search for the selected text.
- Multiple email addresses and plain-text names can be pasted into the To/Cc/Bcc fields, mailing lists, etc. and will be validated up to the first name/email that doesn't validate properly. The list must be comma, semi-colon, or tab-delimited.
- Tab order is cleaned up for the Palm contact form.
- User's IP addresses are displayed in the Session Monitor (for the time being, the server is only sending part of the IP addresses to the client (i.e. 127.0.0.1 might be sent to the client as 127.0) pending a new release of the FirstClass Server.
- Improvements to the Get Info form for administrators.
- The Group Profile form now has a functional "Resume" button to open the resume for the group.
Calendaring
- Client now uses a separate color to indicate the current day in all calendar views, not just month view.
- Day, Work Week, and Week views now have a black highlight border to indicate the selected day.
- Clicking on "Go To Today" sets the highlight border to the current day.
- Creating an event with the New Events button/menu always defaults to the selected day.
- AM/PM display on times in calendar month view.
- Ctrl+W/Cmd+W now show the confirmation dialog (Save, Save As Tentative, Don't Save, Cancel) when closing a newly-created event.
- Event repeat fields are only hidden when the form is loaded if the form is actually the event form.
- Reopening a saved event with a custom repeat time displays the correct duration value (every n days, etc).
- The Advanced tab for Events is now named Repeat.
- Time zone, visibility, and icon fields on an event have been moved from the Repeat (formerly known as Advanced) tab to the Event tab:

- When closing the event window (not clicking Save And Close) upon making a new event, there's now a prompt to save, save as tentative, or cancel.
- Custom repeats for events have had their UI cleaned up.
- Participants and Resources now show in the same view of the Events form without having to switch tabs.
- Added new types of repeats: you can choose every n days/weeks/months/years/hours/minutes:
- Daily: can choose between every n days, weekdays, or weekends.
- Weekly: Can choose the specific days of the week to repeat on (i.e. 'Every 2 weeks on Monday and Thursday').
- Monthly/Yearly: Can choose 'Same day of week' (i.e. 'Every 6 months on the first Friday of the month').
- All old repeat types have been replaced with comparable new ones (i.e. biweekly becomes 'Every 2 weeks'). An old event (created with an older client) on an FC 11 server should show up as the appropriate new event in the FC 11 client.
- Connecting to an older server will let you create the old types of repeats.
Fixes and Changes
- Changed OTSM to OTSW on the Website Prefs form.
- Text reading Bluefield Web domain on Groups -> Services is now OTSW web domain.
- Client no longer displays the OTSW Instant Messaging object.
- Added OTSW configuration tab to the Website Prefs form.
- Printing multiple months no longer prints blank pages.
- Client should now autoclose windows when logging back in after a timeout.
- The user's signature is no longer added when doing a Reply From Conference, closing the message without typing anything, and reopening it.
- Commas are no longer used as a separator when pasting multiple names/email into the To/Cc/Bcc fields.
- Using Ctrl+L to open the directory when a name field has the focus will no longer try to validate an empty name and will show the directory as expected.

- Double-clicking the calendars tab no longer creates an event that causes crash.
- Using filter with the Collapse All Groups set in the view properties no longer slows down the Windows client.

- Various incorrect menus or menus missing items should now show the correct contents.
- Styled text reply quotes may crash the client.
- Repeat form draws correctly.
- Header in month view with collapsed weekends and Sunday as the first day of the week is now Sun/Sat instead of Sat/Sun, since Sunday is chronologically earlier.
- URLs opened from an HTML message are sent to the browser as they're specified in the message, not in all-lowercase.
- Calendars no longer display a box before long-format dates in calendar headers and day headers.
- If the OTSW base URL, as configured on the server, begins with http:// or https://, the client won't prebends http://, allowing admins to use an https link to OTSW by configuring that explicitly.
- Printing email with the Title: field in the header now prints the title again.
- Days outside the current month are printed with the correct color when printing a monthly calendar.
- Clicking on a link in an HTML message will no longer open the link in the message body; the user's external browser is launched.
- Paste option may be missing when selecting "Copy" and when attempting to paste in certain viewing mode.
- [Win] Default mail client now works on Windows 7, Vista, and XP.
- [Win] Windows 7 no longer print exponentially (requested 2, print 4, requested 3, print 9, etc).
- [Win] If an attachment has been uploaded with illegal characters in the filename, the client will remove the illegal characters when trying to open or save the attachment on Windows. (Previously, opening and saving would fail since Windows couldn't create the file with the name we were trying to use).
- [OS X] Horizontal lines print on the calendar in OS X.
- [OS X] Drag and drop and pasteboard code has been rewritten on OS X. It should now be possible to drag and drop from the client to the OS X desktop, and the client should not slow down when content in other applications (such as a large Word document) are on the pasteboard.
- [OS X] A number of issues related to OS X Copy/Paste have been resolved.
- [OS X] Pasting extended characters in from Safari works properly on OS X.
- [OS X] Cut/Paste issues from Word are fixed.
- [OS X] Hiding/unhiding the toolbar no longer causes scrollbars to be drawn in the wrong position on OS X.
- [OS X] OS X client doesn't crash when saving some documents with tables by closing the document window (instead of via Save And Close).
