Position (server files) Purpose Moves the cursor used for reading and writing in a file on the FirstClass server. Syntax ServerFile.Position (Origin [, Offset]) Position Moves the position of the cursor in a file in the server's file system. Origin Specifies the starting point, using one of the following: fcBegin File cursor origin at the beginning of file. fcEnd File cursor origin at the end of file. fcCurr File cursor origin at the current position (unchanged). Offset Specifies the number of bytes to move from that location. A + value indicates a move forward. A - value indicates a move backward. Example Dim sf as ServerFile sf.Position (fcBegin) 'position cursor at beginning of file' sf.Position (fcEnd, -10) 'position cursor 10 characters back from end of file'
